Panasonic DMP BD55

Panasonic DMP BD55 Information

The Panasonic DMP BD55 is Panasonic’s ‘step up’ model to the DMP BD35, The player’s specs are virtually identical to the cheaper DMP BD35; it uses the same high-quality picture processor - Panasonic’s PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus; a high quality image-processing technology developed by Panasonic which upscales images and uses a system that produces breathtaking images that are sharp, clean and maintain colour perfectly. Static and moving images boast superb detail and solid edge definition. These breathtaking images are produced by the P4HD or Pixel Precision Progressive Processing function, this system optimises the processing to over 15 billion pixels a second, and thanks to the Precise Pixel Generation function, the player provides progressive processing and scaling of data at super high speeds.

Unlike the DMP BD35, the DMP BD55 also has a set of seven-channel analogue outputs (a 7.1ch digital audio signal) The resulting audio is incredible (studio master quality sound) This signal can be connected to an HDMI compatible receiver that does not support HD Audio Codec. The player’s simple on-screen menus allow you to alter all relevant settings such as speaker size, distances and levels . The DMP-BD55 can decode HD Audio (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD)

BD-Live lets users access to the Internet to download data such as images and subtitles, and access interactive media, quizzes and other bonus materials included on the Blu-ray disc. It’s also capable of bitstreaming and decoding all high-definition audio formats, including DTS-HD Master Audio. Like the entry-level player, the Panasonic DMP BD55 is DivX , Blu-ray Profile 2.0, and x.v.Colour compatible.

The DMP BD55 will conveniently link easily to your existing compatible Panasonic audio video equipment via the VIERA Link™; a system that allows you to access and operate your home theatre using just one remote control.

The Panasonic DMP BD55 is equipped with a card slot that makes it easy to transfer images from an HD camcorder or digital still camera that uses SD Memory Cards. Insert the card into the slot, and the DMP-BD55 will fill your TV screen with AVCHD-format video images or JPEG stills in stunning 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution.

The Panasonice DMP BD55 Picture quality is top-notch, with Blu-ray images looking clean and unblemished. Where the DMP BD35 set the benchmark for budget Blu-ray players, the DMP BD55 also has much to offer for its price point.
